Font Details
1: Knowing this will more likely be used in titles or headlines, I created weights where the uppercase characters intend both below the baseline and above the cap height. This allows for a classy and elegant look when set in a layout form.
2: This typeface has roots in hand written scripts (as you will see in my initial sketches at the bottom of this page). This shows itself in having big rounded forms in a majority of the characters. You can some characteristics which translate to other characters highlighted.
3: To increase Baker Street’s usability, I included many international characters into the typeface.
Some of My Process
Here is a little bit of my process into how this font came to be and how the letterforms took shape. There is a lot of trial and error as well as experimenting with words to make sure the font looks cohesive and respond well to each other.
