Wonder Woman: Challenge of the Amazons is a cooperative board game where players take on the roles of Amazonian warriors to defend their island of Themyscira against an invading army led by one of three iconic villains, Ares, the Cheetah, or Cerci. The game is designed for 2-5 players, and the goal is to defeat all of villains' minions before they destroy Themyscira.

The game is played over a series of rounds, with each round consisting of two phases. In the first phase, players take turns drawing cards from a deck and choosing one to add to their hand. These cards represent different weapons, abilities, and resources that the players can use to fight off the villains army. In the second phase, players take turns using their cards to move, attack, and defend against the enemy forces.

The visual design is striking and immersive, with artwork and miniatures that capture the iconic look and feel of the Wonder Woman comic franchise.

Card Types

I devised a versatile card layout that could be applied to all cards featured in the game. To distinguish between card types, I utilized background textures as a helpful solution. Specifically, lava marble and dark stone were assigned to villains, while white marble and light stone were assigned to heroes. The diverse card types are shown below for reference.

Name Treatment

To enhance the overall theme and storyline of the game, I created a customized type treatment for the game title and card backs. I utilized a pristine typeface and presented it as though it had been etched into the cards, similar to the way old Roman buildings and monuments were inscribed. This treatment helped to continue the game's theme and allow players to easily separate the villain decks.
